Rockingham Arts CEntre

This project was awarded one of two 2024 Artist-in-Residence places at the Rockingham Arts Centre with a public exhibition of the film from 27th November - 8th Dec.

Wise Young Things: Rockingham had Senior Storytellers from the Philippines, Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, Quebec (Canada), England, Italy, France, and Croatia, and Young Performers from three different local secondary schools with an age range of 13 - 18 years.

As well as being hosted by Rockingham Arts Centre, the project was further supported by the Rockingham Autumn Seniors Centre, the Rockingham Youth Centre, Rockingham Senior High School, Warnbro Community High School, and the Kids Research Institute.

The final film is made possible by the generosity and willingness of our storytellers to share their lives with us, and by the dedication and empathy of the performers to take on the responsibility of embodying these stories.

I enjoyed the movie and appreciated the hard work behind the scenes and the way you communicate with different generations, always polite, positive and happy. Attention to details also seems to be your forte. Well done! I was very pleased to talk to all people involved in the project...
